This program may be for you if you are interested in: working with your hands, exploring how things work, plumbing and electrical work.
Students will work with industry professionals to develop skills necessary to be an HVAC technician. Students form/size/install ductwork and troubleshoot HVAC systems using state-of-the-art equipment.
Students in the HVAC program will have the opportunity to earn a HVAC/R Maintenance Certificate from Iowa Western. Courses in this program line up with Related Training Instruction necessary for an HVAC apprenticeship.
Clay, Woodbine Senior, struggled in a traditional high school setting. Before coming to IGNITE, Clay considered dropping out. The opportunity to learn the HVAC trade brought Clay to Woodbine and IGNITE.
Now Clay goes to school every day. He arrives early for his apprenticeship and puts in many extra hours each week.
