Interested in becoming a teacher or learning how schools shape the future of students and communities? Foundations of Education introduces students to the many aspects of American elementary and secondary education. In this course, students explore teaching as a profession while examining the philosophy and history of education. Students will also study curriculum development and analyze contemporary issues that impact schools, educators, and learners in today’s education system.
Foundations of Education brings students into contact with the numerous facets and issues involved in American elementary and secondary education. Students learn about teaching as a profession, the philosophy of education, education in the historical context, curriculum development, and contemporary issues facing the public and educators.
