WORK-BASED LEARNING

Work-Based Learning (WBL) offers students a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in real-world environments, bridging the gap between education and career success. This program is perfect for students looking to actively engage in their chosen career pathways, while developing essential technical, academic, and employability skills.

Course Description

In partnership with iJAG, Work-Based Learning (WBL) at IGNITE Pathways provides students with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in real work environments while developing essential technical, academic, and employability skills. Through WBL, students actively engage in their chosen career pathways, learning firsthand what it takes to excel in the workforce. This practical experience not only enhances their education but also equips them with valuable technical skills that are crucial for success in their future careers. Work-Based Learning Opportunities

Prior to any WBL placement, students must complete the Career Readiness Credential.

IGNITE encourages students to participate in leadership and career-oriented experiences to gain skills for the future. WBL options vary by grade level and are designed to help students explore careers while earning academic credit.

Before placement in a business outside of Woodbine Schools or IGNITE, students are required to complete the Career Readiness Credential. Students must also be in good academic standing, complete all WBL requirements, and maintain professional dress and communication. If paperwork is not submitted prior to the start date, students will not be allowed to begin their WBL placement.
