You'll explore the psychological impact of sports injuries and how athletes overcome both mental and physical challenges. Learn how injuries happen by understanding the "mechanism of injury," and dive into the ethical and legal responsibilities sports medicine professionals face when treating athletes. Whether you’re an aspiring trainer or just curious about athletic health, this class will give you the tools to succeed!
A hands-on approach will be used throughout the course. Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries introduces athletic training procedures as they relate to the athlete, physical education, coach, and trainer. Included is the history of the training profession, ethics, testing, fitness development, and care and prevention of common sports injuries.
